our father has purchased a plot which was named as public purpose plot.in the cmda approved layout it is mentioned as, if the concerned government officials does not negotiate with the owner for buying the plot within 1 year from the date of approval of the layout, the owner of the plot shall dispose the plot for any person for residential use only. we have constructed a house on this plot with proper patta and proper building approval and we have been living for the past 25 years.my question is whether the government has the right to acquire this land any time, and is there any option to convert this land into normal residential plot.

There is no absolute and constitutional right to property with the citizen of India. Your property has already been shown as the property of the State whereas its acquisition has not properly been made by State so better to file a civil suit for declaration for the deletion of that entry in the record and get the relief as desired.
