Dear Forum Members,
I have below questions:
1.What is the procedure to resign for a secretary in co operative housing society?
2.Should there be a meeting called to give resignation and how many members should be present?
3.Who can accept the resignation and how many days notice to be given?
4.What to do if the same is not accepted?
5.What to do if there is no other member willing to become next secretary?
6.How to do the handover of documents , checklist and to whom to handover if there is no secretary?
Thanks
Rahul Kumar

Secretary can submit his resignation to President and there is no need to call a meeting for the submission of the resignation letter rather a meeting can be called by society for the purpose of acceptance it it bye-laws lay down such procedure otherwise management is competent to accept it.

Chs bylaws are answer to your questions. In case they are silent resignation can be submitted to President who in his descretion
may accept or proceed in manner he chooses.

Society is not accepting my resignation and there is nobody else ready to become secretary.
All other committee members stay in their other houses not in the society as they have given their flat on rent.
This activity of managing the society and the concerns is taking toll on my health , I am over 65.
Please advise what should i do. I am harassed by society members.

1) send letter to Chiarman of the society .
2) in the next meeting of MC inform the members that on account of ill health you wont be able to manage the show any more .
3) stop attending society office . refuse to take back your resignation .
4) if members are adamant appoint a full time manager to look after society affairs

You should not bother about the coming secretary. If you want to resign, legally it shall be duly accepted. If you think none can take place your position and your health and mind do permit then no need to put resignation.
