A person is living in my house as a renter since 3 months. There is no formal agreement. His activity seems to be suspicious. I told him to vacate the house. Now he is denying. I want to know how can i get local police support. Should i give him a notice? If yes, what is the process and what will be the notice period?

how can you give your flat on rent without police verification . you have to check the antecedents of licensee before giving your premises on rent .
further inorder to save on stamp duty and registration charges you have not entered into any written agreement . issue him legal notice to vacate the premises . file suit for eviction

You can inform Police about his suspicious activities. As far getting back possession of the property is concerned you have no option but to file suit for eviction if he does not agree.

You have given your property on rent without police verification and formal agreement. Now you can inform police with all information and proofs about suspicious activities.
