Hi,
i want to know how can i get the property transferred from my parents to my name.
My parents passed away like 5 to 7 years ago. i am the only son. i want to know the procedure so that i can get this done. Please help.

Get the legal heir ship from the Thasildar and with that you can change the property to your name. Consult local lawyer and get advise

where is the property situated? is it a flat in cooperative society? did your parents leave a will / any nomination made?

i was born in Udupi, Karnataka. however i was raised in Mumbai. Now will i get legal heir ship from Thasildar in Mumbai or Thasildar in Udupi. and once i get legal heir ship where do i have to visit to get the rest of the procedure completed?
No will/No nomination/Property located near outskirts of mumbai.
flat is in a co operative society and
shop does not have a society yet.

apply to society to transfer flat in your name as you are the only legal heir and your parents did not leave any nomination . society will transfer flat to you on furnishing indemnity bond and on release of public notice in newspapers .

In the shop case there is no society so what happens in that case? Please help.

You can get it transferred in your name in Municipal records by submitting death certificate of your father and other documents if required by them.

you mean to say builder has not formed society . approach builder for change in name in records . also apply to muncipal corporation for transfer of shop in your name

I agree, experts have addressed the query very well. If the shop is not coming under the society, name transfer of records can be applied with the Municipality directly evidencing the death certificate of your parents. Why have you been waiting so long for more than 5 years?
