My mother is owner of a house for 30 years in a co-operative housing society in Gujarat. Now She wants to register/record nominee for this house, to enable smooth transfer of house-ownership after her death. (1) Please inform us What are the step by step procedure. (2) From Where we can find nomination form, if required (downloadable ?)? (3) What is draft matter if a letter/affidavit is required ? (4) Where/to whom to submitt this papers ? (5) Also inform any other papers, needed for ownership-transfer in nominee's name, after owner's death.

1. The secretary of the society should be having the requisite information and even the forms for nomination will be able with him.
2. Otherwise you can make out a simple letter asking the secretary to take record of the nomination made by her in the society's record and then this feature will be endorsed on the reverse of the share certificate.
3. It is lawful to make a nominee under the Co-operative Hosing Society Act.
4. You can feed the words " Gujarat Co-operative Housing Society Act" in the Google search engine and can access the required information.

As secretary unaware of nomination form , I will go as per your advise of writing on a plain paper.
Does it require witness signature along with my mother's(owner) signature?
Any other precaution?

please note that nominee is only a trustee for other legal heirs . nomination forms can be collected from society . fill form in triplicate . submit it to society . after nomination is recorded by society in nomination register society will retrun duplicate copy to you . in addition ask your mother to get will drafted from local lawyer and have it attested by 2 witnesses .
