Dear Experts
I request a little bit of advice from you
My grandfather had purchased some forest land from jamindar 50 years ago
Till the land is in our customer and cultivating. We don't have any papers but have power connection in it for the past 12 years
Shall we apply for ownership title now
Please advice

Please get information from the Land Revenue Department or Collector if you find your grandfather name in the records then you can claim your title and right.If you would not found then it may be vested with the Govt.
Scheduled tribes and other forest-dwelling groups can claim land title rights and common property rights under the Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006.

Title to land is a question of fact than of records. Possession is title unless it is totally erroneous.
What was the locus standi of the then Jamindar to sell (or was it a grant) the land to your grandfather? Did he have the authority to dispose of waste/unoccupied land? Try to get the information under RTI Act or other means.

We have electricity connection for more than a decade to run submersible pump
Another doubt is during this year, supreme court announced some guidelines saying, if the land vested in once hand for more than certain years, he can claim the title. Truly I am in confusion

i have already stated that local law/act is applies in your case, you have to check the same with local advocate.

You want to claim title by adverse possession. A local lawyer would be able to guide you properly based on the ground realities.
