Deed of gift

(Querist) 09 July 2015 This query is : Resolved
Hello, i m residing in mumbai, and i have property gifted to my mothers name by her real elder sister before a year ago through the act of deed of gift, and we have completed all the registration and stamp duty and society transfers before a year itself, now the donor asks us to give the property back to her without letting us know any reason to do so., the deed clearly mentioned that this "deed is irrevocable" , also it states that the Donor was staying with the donee since last 10 years and the donee has taken care of donor's day to day care and responsibilities and she is confident that the donee and her family will also take care of donor's in future and so with love and affection the donor is gifting her flat to donee.

My question is whether we can be leagally forced to give the property back to her or no?
Even though we have never done anything wrong to her, she is forcing us and threating us to go in court if we don't make a transfer back to her.
So are then any chances, that we can be affected as per the law.?
Thanks in advance!

Sir,

She can seek the cancellation of the gift deed through the court and its better that you record all her threats if in case she visits court in future.

Warm Regards
