threatening behaviour of a lawyer in chennai

Dear Sir / Madam, with all due respect to all lawyers who safeguarding the Indian law, I would like to share about a lawyer in chennai, who lives in ambattur and he has taken money from my brother of 2.10 lakhs and from myself of 1 lakh, in the month of may 2015 where he said that he is in to building contract and he could not able to handle his earlier depths where he paid me back 30k against my 1lakh in month of June 2015, which was done after several followup. But after that his response to us is like threatening that he is a lawyer and he has some backups and giving all wrong commitments on our payments, which is still pending til date. Yesterday he has hit my brother while having conversation about the money pending from his end. His whole family and his neighbourhood where the witness of the rude behaviour of this lawyer.
As a citizen of this country, I feel that this way of approach by a lawyer is a threat to us. So request you to give me solutions on how to handle this issue.

When he borrowed money from you he is not acting in his capacity as a lawyer, but as a private person.
Did you take any Promissory Note from him while giving the money? If not why not?
If he has hurt your brother, then your brother can lodge a police complaint.

You ought to respond to the queries raised above.
If your brother was hit by the advocate and you have witnesses you ought to lodge an FIR for assault and battery / use of criminal force on asking for the return of your money dishonestly usurped/taken from you.

Though Anonmyous Querist,
This is a matter to be dealt in a police station but not in this forum.Just because he is a lawyer,the entire matter is a private one.Hence U can initiate criminal proceedings against him,if U have any valid documentary evidence of the money paid.

Dear All,
Thanks for sharing your comments and note that we came to know that this guy has a team to check for the people who has own property in the close by areas and they're targeting these people and ask them to join in their construction business and states that he need some money to close his earlier pending loans and he says that he will pay back the money with interests and he also signs the promissory document. But in our matter we have been very clear with him that he has to settle down the money as per the document and then we can talk about any other business. But he started acting in a different way of showing himself as lawyer and whenever we follow for payment, he starts calling some more lawyers for his support and finally he gives a different dated for the settlement. I will take this issue to the police station and get a case filed against him. Thanks for all your support.
