Installing the cctv cameras

(Querist) 13 August 2016 This query is : Resolved
After installing the CCTV cameras many members have started demanding CCTV Footage without any valid reasons. In fact to give a copy consumes lot all time and requires technical knowledge. Can managing committee charge their members for such demands? And can society pay extra charges to the person who helps extracting the footage in pen drive? Can the managing committee deny of giving the footage without proper and valid reason.

Go thru Bye Laws.

Link has been given in other thread initiated by you.

sir

Requesting CCTV Camera Footage by members is a matter of right and the Society is obliged to furnish the same. However, the society is free to demand payment of reasonable charges (not abnormal and prohibitive charges). After all the Society is meant for the welfare of the members and when member wanted information/picture, the society should furnish the same within a reasonable time and cost. Further, please note that provisions of RTI also applies in this situation.

Author @ Shailendra Khtari,

There are many queries by you on one subject; Society and its Members....

It is Co-OP society and its members pay from its hard earned monies and spend their precious hours in approaching the Co-OP society, for matters that concern them.

There are Model Bye laws, Bye Laws, and laws.

If there are so many issues you and society may retain a counsel well versed with such matters.

Thus you/society won't err and the issues won't turn into complaints, litigation's.
