What is actually entry tax and when it is leveable

Entry Tax is like an advance payment of tax, ussualy VAT, which is payable at the time when the goods in question(on which entry tax has been imposed) enters into the limits of the relevant state. Credit of entry tax paid is ussualy provided just like input tax credit under the relevant VAT Act.

Entry tax can be levied by state govt on any taxable goods
