is there is mandatory provision in the act that presence of the consumer is required at the time inspection of the of meter in MRT lab., please furnish case laws in this regard and delay in filing fir, sending meter after long time for testing

sec.26 of the Electricity act makes is mandatory to get the meter inspected by the inspector of the department. this has to be done in the presence of the consumer in the event of the dept suspecting any foulplay by the consumer in the meter. otherwise the inspection done behind the back of the consumer will not bind the consumer.
