It is an offence for which no compromise is allowed between the accused and the victim. Sec.320 Cr.P.C. may be read to know further.

it is not un compoundable it is non coumpoundable.
Compoundanble and non compoundable offences means compromise and non compromise offences. Normally bailable offences are compoundable in nature and heneious offences like rape, murder etc., are non compoundable.

320. Compounding of offences.
(1) The offences punishable under the sections of the Indian Penal Code (45 of 1860) specified in the first two columns of the Table next following may be compounded by the persons mentioned in the third column of that Table.
