Dear Expert,
I work in a private bank. I had put my resignation on 26.10.2010 ,as I had asked for a transfer to another city but they denied and I had to leave this city by 26.11.2010.As per the rules.i have to serve 30 days as notice period.During the period 27.10.2010-31.10.2010,I was again requesting my boss for a transfer. After this was also denied on 01.11.2010 I continued with the resignation effective from the previous day.The same was confirmed by the HR.
Now my region head says that the resignation on the previous day will be considered void and the notice period has to be served from 01.11.2010.Please let me know if he can force me to do that.
My region head has troubled me a lot.He has transferred me twice within a period of 10 months without giving any reasons.I have worked in 3 different branches in 1 year. Please tell me if I can take some legal action against him.

First check whether you have signed any detailed Job Contract or not at the time of joining this bank. f yes, then nether of you could go beyond it and would be guided accordingly. For the acts of the Bank as you alleged you have to file a suit for damages which takes a lot of time for disposal. Apart from that you just focus on your new job without paying any attention to the letter of the bank towards period of notice.

when you requesting to transfer is written/or orally was again requesting your boss for a transfer. After this was also denied on 01.11.2010 on which date you again requesting or by which mean ? written or orally? it is important, if you give request ( written )after resignations date of refusal is final date to count one month
