Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 10 July 2011 This query is : Resolved

We have been sending RTI queries to MHADA,
asking them to give us replies in writing.
But they send us replies asking us to visit them and inspect the files.
That means they are avoiding to commit in writing. What do we do?
Please give suggestions.

visitng them and inspecting is only an option to be exercised by you.

if you are not happy with it file a first appeal against their decision/reply.

Expert mahendrakumar HAS RIGHTLY SUGGESTED YOU IN MY OPINION.

Not necessarily; in case of files where the required information may be intermingled with some other irrelevant information, the authorities do need your help in sorting out the relevant information so that you get exactly what you expect. So you may inspect the files and identify the exact information you need, then they will issue the same in writing. Such things frequently happen in revenue department files, welfare scheme files etc. No need to look at this with an element of distrust; if they still delay it/ refuse, then you have the appeal remedy.
