Convert patrilineality to matrilineality

my parents got inter religious marriage in the year 1975.my father was a muslim,mother is hindu religion.after getting married they both have not changed their own religions.i born in the year 1981.in my eductional cetificates my religion is muslim( patrilineality-father's surname and religion).my father died in the year 1989.now i want to change my religion.i was told that i can convert my mother's religion and cast(matrilineality-mother's surname surname and cast,religion.).is convertion of patrilineality to matrilineality possible for me?please send me details.
