If the witness not doesnot appear on the date specified. Will the court gives another date, if not does it weakens the position of the complainant

Sure, unless the the concerned party specifically requests the court for dropping of the witness on reasonable ground.

Court serve such witness through summons, then bailable warrants and finally through non-bailable warrants so no need to worry. Prosecution is bound to call its every witness shown in list.

Normally court gives just another date after summmoning.
However, you can request for Bailable warrants.
Yours truly has done so in his case.

Actually it is the case of prosecution and its depends upon the prosecution how its pray before the court to get the witness appear before the court for deposition.
