They are admissible.

But, not in the form of print outs. You have to follow the process prescribed in Sec 65B of Indian Evidence Act.

Expert Shri Kapoor, Sec 65B of Evidence Act specifically mentions computer print outs are admissible as evidence if the same satisfy the test mentioned in the Section. I however have a doubt whether chattings made on the computer can be evidence. Experts may clarify.
