Dv act- section.?

i want to apply for DV act against my husband, in-laws, his relatives who tortured me physically n mentally.
1. Under what section i shld put case for it? (my lawyer said that can be done under 200cr.p.c) is that the case wher t shld b filed? or any othr section?
2. that shld b done in which court (i m in chennai)?
a.my jurisdiction family court (or)
b.chennai high court (or)
c. my area magistrate court
