I am 28years old, born,brought up,education,working,paying taxes,voting everything in india. but my parents are nepali.Passport officer in goa are raising issue of my parents nationality. I have submitted all my doc’s which are clear, my parents docs also submitted ie. Retirement certificate for which he worked for a reputed company in goa for 34years. He cam to india 40years back n still here. Acoording to provision of Citizenship law,1955 i am eligible as citizeb on india BY BIRTH.
Plz guide me, are they trying to harass me & take some bribe from me(which iam not going to give them). What can I do, coz in feb’12 I am going to be eligible for training programme which happens every year outside india from my company.

If it is central Govt official demanding bribe then go to the site of CBI, locate nearest office and contact them. No other way.

by birth itself you got citizenship.. also your parents also living in india past 40 years.. if you live in india just 5 years mean you are eligible to claim citizenship., but in your case you are living past 40 years., just apply for change your nationality as indians., if they make unwanted delay mean approach your high court by a writ petition.

You have a fit case. It is advised to obtain the status of your application by using RTI Act. If any objection is raised over your application then it can be got corrected legally so obtain their way in writing by RTI and then post your query in this site.

Yes Mr RK Makkad,i shall use RTI act but it might take another 30days.Can u suggest me about some indian LAW so that i can show them or tell them verbally.If RTI what questions to be asked,&also if u can provide me format of RTI application if any, this will be great help.
