court will fix date for corss eamination of defendant /witnesses . in cross examination the plaintiff can ask questions pertaining to defence taken in written statement /affidavit of evidence

Legally there is no time limit or length of cross examination fixed but the cross examination should be within the scope of pleadings and documents submitted by parties.
