Procedure followed by police and courts in forgery cases.

(Querist) 18 February 2012 This query is : Resolved
Sir,

In continuation to the reply provided by experts,

I kindly like to know the procedure followed by the police(INVESTIGATION OFFICER) as to how they investigate forgery cases and come to conclusion whether a particular sign is forged or not?

Procedure in accordance with the legal procedures laid out.

Thanks

Such documents are send for forensic examianatin alongwith sample handwriting and sample signatures of suspect and of the person denying to have written it (for who the suspected is suspeted to have written) The suspect as a right to refuse the sample handwiritng as per Article 20 and when asked for the same before court, they refuse. Even in that case police is not prevented from siesing his admitted handwirting on the documents already written by him. [i.e. in case of Govt deptt or a company the registered, bills, leave application etc written by accused].
