hi sir, one of my relative is getting frequent calls from her old boyfrind and he is making lewd comments on the calls, the numbers he is using is a fake number and this number belongs to united kingdom, i dont know how he got this fake number and using it...we complained about it to the police and told them, Along with the making obscene calls charge, he should be charged for using such fake number which could be used for making any illegal activity in india..police is doing nothing..kindly suggest what should be done?

Your mobile must have provision to stop receiving calls from particular no.
Do it.
Never reply those calls, do'nt listen too. Ask someone to prolong talk, you never speak a word on this no.

if police officer not take any action and then complaint higher officer if their also not take action , immediately file Cr.O.P. sec 482 to take direction, they will take immediately from court.

n try to barr the incoming call from that no. every mobile has that facility nowadays. use that or also you can complaint the same to the service provider to stop such fake nos and ISD nos which do not disclose indentity

If complaints made to local police station are not yielding any results lodge complaints with supdt of police. If no action taken then file complaints before magistrate under156of cr pc

Now the things appear to have gone beyond call barring. They have lodged police complaint and police is perhaps stopped on receipt of UK phone No.
Anyhow as suggested by Mr Shiekh application in form of Istagasa can be made to Ilaqa Magistrate.
But the problem is of location of accused. If he is ex-boy friend then you r friend is ware of his whereabouts (atleast past whereabouts). Complaint to higher police officers. SP/DIG or even DGP with copy to NCW can help.
Indian police when forced to work or willing to work is capable to locating the accused even if hiding under grave of someone else particularly when the suspect is not a total stranger to the complainant. When nabbed he himself will tell from where he got the phone number of UK whether a stolen sim or by active connivance of someone in UK.
Not a dead end case.

In Delhi now there is a specific police helpline for obscene calls @ 1096.
