Dear Akk,
I am a member of co-operative housing society. I am asked the following information
Kindly provide a copy of the society bye-laws for my reference along with new resolutions. Also provide me a list of society members as of today.
Additionally please provide the following information as well:
1. Name and designation of officer bearers (committee members of the society)
2. Amount balance against the society members (name and amount) on account of monthly maintenance.
The society is asking me the reason. It has been 5 months I have asked for the same.
My question is am I asking something which is not within the right of a member? what if they refuse to provide the documents?
Regards,
Janhavi

I have been asking for the following information for my society from December 2012
1. copy of bye-laws
2. new resolutions
3. list of office bearers
4. amount due against members
After 8 months they have today by registered post in following matter
1. copy of bye-laws - they say that while getting admitted to the membership , you have said on oath that you have gone through the bye-laws. it shows that you are knowing and having bye-laws. Thus to provide it again in not required.
2. new resolutions - they say that provide details and then it will be considered.
3. list of office bearers - fixed an appointment after 30 days and then you can have a look
4. amount due against members - it wont be provided
now my question is are they right in replying in this manner?
Is there any remedy for the same?
Regards,
Janhavi
