Query on succession certificate

Dear sir,
My mother expired without a will. we have a plot of Lucknow Development authority in her sole name in lucknow.
We are three brother and no sisters.
now we all 3 brothers want to transfer the plot in name of father.
Do we require a succession certificate ?
if yes , what is the procedure and charges for obtaining succession certificate.

approach LDA . if it agrees to transfer plot in name of legal heirson furnishing indemnity bond and without succession certifcate do it . if it insists get a succession certificate . cour t fees depend upon stamp act of your state

LDA is insisting for succession certificate.
1. What is the procedure for obtaining succession certificate. and how much time it takes and where
should we approach.
2. LDA is asking to get succession certificate from DM office but as i know from internet that succession
certificate is issued by Civil court.

you can made out relinquishment deed, with succession certificate

Amit dont misunderstand the succession certificate will have to be obtained from civil court for movables, such as bank deposits, LIC claims, etc, whereas the DM Office will issue Family Survival Certificate which is sufficient to get transfer the names of heirs of deceased in R of R or other property extracts.

I do agree with Bijapur. You ned not to obtain Succession Certificate rather legal Heirship Certificate from the office of DM
