It is very strange to know that you are asking this question from which you have already passed. How have you cleared your graduation if you cannot remember the sections etc.?

Dear Mr. karthik,

I understand your predicament!

In the student years (and especially in the first semester itself), it is not quite easy to remember the case laws.

You should know the concept very well. As you will know there is constant evolution of the law. Therefore, from the cases covered in your semester, you should know what was the original concept - for this you should know the case law. Then there will be further evolution of the jurisprudence. Now you will be able to remember in which case law such a change took place. Like that if you know the original concept, then its progressive evolution from time to time, it will be possible for you to remember the case laws (by name - not necessarily by citation).

While not quoting the case law will not hamper you in the examination, quoting the case law in your answer will definitely help in securing additional marks.

In any case, as a promising lawyer, you should develop the habit of remembering the case laws - this will come to you slowly and steadily, as I mentioned earlier, if you know the concept and its evolution.

Hope this clarifies your query and helps in your studies.
