Electronic attendance

Is it mandotory to get prior approval from government authorities to maintain electronic attendance ( Bio metric or Swipe Card ) and discontinue manual attendance . I want to know legal provision regarding this

There is no legal provision in this regard. No government authority comes into the picture. It is the arrangement in each of the organization as to how they would like to get the attendance registered and watched. Some have physical register, some have punch card, some have swipe card, some have bio-metric system etc. etc.
