Mutation of land

(Querist) 06 March 2013 This query is : Resolved
Hi,
Is mutation of land is nessery.
I have not made mutation of my house.
We are living in from 10 years in Haryana.

My quetion is that is old owner can make some legal action against us.

If the record of the land is maintained with the revenue department means Patwari then you definitely need to get the sale-deed mutated therein and if the record is with the municipal authorities or within Lal Dora then you need not get its mutation but its due entry is required to be entered in municipal record or with Gram panchayat.

Sir,
In Patwari's record this land is in name of last to last owner.
The last registry of my house was also not mutated. So, is it any worry thing
Raj Kumar Makkad (Expert) 06 March 2013
Get the mutation changed otherwise you may face problem in future and it was your duty to confirm while getting sale deed in your name whether the seller is duly recorded as owner in the mutation or not.
