Is it mandatory to attest the rent agreement through notary

registration is mandatory . notarised agreement wont work .

optional but better go for registration.

Any rent agreement made for a period more than 12 moths is compulsorily required to be registered then notarization of them would not be sufficient.For period less than 12 month even notarization is not required by law but desirable as the same becomes it's primafacie proof.

i too agreed with all reply and if it bellow of 12 month then no need of registration and notary . that clearly explained by Mr prabhakar singh .
