What are the responsibilities, duties, mandates and obligations of Software companies like Microsoft and its Vendor after sales of software?

I am sorry that I could not raise this query properly as a lay man. I wanted to know, when software companies like Microsoft insist on using licensed software, once they sell it what are their obligations by law. Are they mandated by law to show demonstration, presentation and make aware an end user about license policies and software use. Today software piracy rate in India is high, where is the education but? Software companies sometime take undue advantage of it. They harass end users. End users do not know what software companies duties are? Will any body help?

even as layman you know that you are supposed to obtain licensed copy of software . if you fail to do so and are caught be ready to face the consequences

Lat user should also ensure that he is using the original product or not. The aim and object of piracy is to sell the product to the last end user so it is highly expected from such user to be vigil. Software companies have to bear a huge loss due to piracy and only few last users do come within the clutches of law.
