Hi,
One of my office colleague, who had joined recently, had to travel to his hometown-Kolkata. Since he wanted to reach urgently, he asked for a favor for a air ticket, amounting to 11500 Rs. from me and promised to repay me back in couple of days. He was supposed to come back to Ahmedabad in few days.
But now he has been terminated from my company due to some reasons and he is not going to come back, neither he is repaying back. He keeps on promising me that he will repay in couple of days whenever I give him a call. It has been a month now.
Kindly guide me, how can I get my money back. Can I register a FIR against him in a local police station.
Thanks,
Amar Gandhi

Do you have any written proof that you lent him money.
If yes then file a suit for recovery of money. Yiu can try your luck by sending him legal notice as well.

it appears you have advanced him money by cash . you must not be having any receipts . chances of recovery of money are bleak . filing suit for recovery of Rs 11,500 dosent make sense .

Send a friendly Letter, demanding your money.
Once he accept his liability by reply, u send Legal notice & file suit.

First retry to negotiate making duns for your debt and get the same recorded there after few days send him SMS and then send a letter reminding him of his promise to payback and when all this fails plan for filing a suit.

Thank you all for your kind advice. Do let me know if email interaction can do or need to send a physical letter, because I am sure he will not reply to a paper letter. Can the print out of that email interaction be used to file a FIR

Though e-mail can do, in this type of dispute it is better to send formal letter by post.

Use both way of communication suggested.
If you call it a loan,no FIR could be filled.
To file FIR you would need to allege cheating.
