Service rendered by distance education centre falls under cpa, 1986

service rendered by distance education study centre falls under CPA, 1986

Facts:
Enrolment of MA(English)for University of Madras through distance education mode in distance education study centre.

After one year i called the study centre to take my hall ticket and to write my first year exams.
They said my enrollment was not yet confirmed.
This was not confirmed by study centre till i asked.

Grounds:
No any communication from them till i approached.
This caused one year waste to me.

Evidence:
1) original receipt of Cash deposited in Bank A/c of University of Madras.
2) receipt given by study centre at time of paying their tuition fees.


when approached they said it is there not their mistake.
my sand is that they could have informed me at least after one month.

can i file a suit for deficiency of service in consumer court?

Of course you can file a complaint for deficiency of service in the consumer court where opposite party is located

With the proof in your possession, you can approach the consumer forum of your jurisdiction to redress your grievances against the deficient services rendered by the Education centre.
