Dear sir,
I am going to marry.Bride's father himself saying that he was leftenan army colonel and worked in delhi,kolkata,ambala and hyderabad.
But his behaviour,family status doesn't at all complies.
Can i get officially his information about his post in army under RTI for confirmation?
pl suggest.

You have been proposed by the girl or her father who was (was not) a Lieutenant Colonel in Army?
Lieutenant Colonel in Army is a rank and not a post.
Personal information cannot be provide under the provisions of RTI Act, 2005. However, there are number of other sources to confirm that whether the person was Lieutenant Colonel in Army or impersonating to be a Lieutenant Colonel in Army.
As I observed from the post you are still innocent and immature to infer regarding the person i.e., father of the proposed girl, that whether "his behaviour,family status doesn't at all complies.." or not.

Bab nothing is wrong if you suspect the behaviour, living standard and other quality of that person who is Lt.col in The army , if you want to know about him ask him his unit / battalion /paltan and go to his paltan an enquired about him . , if you are comfortable with the girl and loves her then don't go so deep do enquiry of the girl about her Education , character , job etc .

Be it as it is, you can even ask him for his pension documents or can ask headquarters at Delhi.

If you observe her father's nature by his behavioral attitude to be unpleasant and apprehend troubles due to the same in future matrimonial life, you may better re-think about your decision to g ahead with proposed wedding. the father's behavior may be a hint of her nature too, who knows, therefore if you suspect some adverse things due to this, you still have option to finalise the proposal. Better make discreet enquiries now itself than to land up in trouble at a later stage and lament over it then.
