Cheating done by bhutan travel agency

Dear Sir/Madam,

I had traveled to bhutan between the period 13th to 20th of June. I had booked a complete package from them and it was an all inclusive package, it included the stay, car with a driver and an exclusive guide.

The hotels and all were ok and as per expectation, but the car provided was a non AC one and also they had mentioned on mail that they will show me a place called Wangdue in BHutan which was not shown as the permit of it was not taken from the capital city Thimpu. I had spoken to them and also put a mail to them regarding these issues,they told me they will resolve it but they didn't.

I had to forgo and cut short the visit to this place and also had to deal with a substandard service wr t the car. I have also come to know that the air tickets charged to me were quite high than the usual ones charged for indian nationals { indians have special fare to travel to bhutan}

They had charged me seperately 13k per head for a return airfare i.e Kolkata paro Kolkata, I Had checked online and found out that the airfare offered to indians were a little cheaper i,e at 8k for return fare. Since the fares were charged separately and I had to do a RTGS, have requested them an invoice copy for the same as they would have paid the air fare to the airlines.

They are still not providing the invoice copy and are also denying that no one can offer at such low prices the tickets. I have told them that probably the carrier would have charged them extra, so kindly provide the invoice copy of the bookings. They are now not responding on this request as well.

I have told them that as a client, I am entitled to get a proper invoice copy of the airfare as it was charged seperately by them.

Can I take this matter legally or thru a consumer court with them? In case they have actually paid the same amount to the air carrier then they shouldn't have a problem giving me an invoice right?

Need all your views on this matter and how to take this forward. The issues here are deficiencies of services and providing incorrect details of the air fare.

If the Travel agent has any office in Kolkata then you can file such application before the consumer forum at Kolkata depending upon the jurisdictions s three number of district forums are there in Kolkata.

If the agency has an office in India and you have availed the services through that agency, you can move to consumer forum. If it is totally Bhutan based co. having no office in India, you have to move as per Bhutan law there. You may take up the matter with the Government tourist department of Bhutan.

The agency has offices in Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai. The bookings were done thru their office in Delhi. The RTGS too have been made to their office in Delhi.

Also I want to know whether under the law I can get an original invoice copy of the air tickets booked thru DRUK AIR?, as this fare was charged seperately thru the travel agents.

I have been asking them for a copy but they are not giving me one

They told me that they can't give me seperate invoice for the air fare as its an all inclusive package.

But in the financials they have charged the air fare separately. so Can I lawfully ask for the invoice copy

why are you interested in original invoice rather than anything else.

Thanks sir, They had taken 27000 RS towards air fare for two persons. I have checked with some other operators too, and they said that the ticket cost is much lesser i.e 18k for two from kolkata to bhutan and back.

When asked the tour operators told me that they have charged properly, so that's why I am insisting on the invoice as in my financials they have put the trip cost separately and the flight airfare seprately

Dear Sudhir SIr, The agreement was that the cost of the air fare of Rs 27000 was taken seperately other than the trip cost of 71000 Rs. The Rs 71000 of the trip included a guide and an AC vehicle, the vehicle provided was a non ac one.

Also the airfare charged also was on the higher side. I have got their invoice which states the cost of the air ticket, but no proper invoice of the air craft carrier has been given. I am asking them proof that they paid the same amount to the airlines. They are unable to prove or show it.

Thanks to everyone here. I had got a call few days back from them wherein they had mentioned that they will refund me for the AC which was not working,

They still haven't given me any news on the airtickets, as they are saying that we buy tickets in bulk and we can't show the tickets and the cost of the tickets.

I think they have charged me more for the air tickets as Indian national get discounts while travelling to Bhutan.

Kindly advise me on the next step if possible, It was all due to your help that they have at least heeded for a refund

They have done business in India where CP Act gives consumer a right to be informed.
