You can applly for issue of patta to the tahsildar based on the registered sale deed.If refused, file an appeal to the higher officer for direction to issue patta.

If you have a registered sale deed in your favor, you may apply for mutation of revenue records with the concerned revenue department upon which you will come to know the real status of your property as well as the sale deed. After this you can decide about further legal action in case you do not get any proper response from the revenue department.
