Gazetted officer is not entitled for any OTA or Compensatory off.

1. By the way, Mr. Biju, just for the sake of my knowledge, which department you are referring where officers are working on 24x7 pattern without a weekly holiday, except when there is an exigency/ emergency?
2. It is strange that the class 'A' & 'B' gazetted officers are working on 24x7 pattern? 3. However, practically, as I observer (I may be wrong)it is other-way-round.
4. If so, we are citizen of a proud nation, otherwise it is a hypothetical situation and query.

Refer the service rules governing the employment.

Look into the dept. instructions.

Are you a Gazetted Officer? Also, better discuss your real problem, if you have nay, instead of asking a general academic question.
biju (Querist) 06 June 2015
Thanks for the replys.
Let me clarify more on the query.
I said the daily duration of working hours as 8:30 Hrs. And it happens in a 24 Hour round the clock shift duty work pattern. The shift (morning, evening, night) may be different on each day.
Normally a central Gazetted officer who works for the same duration in a shiftless pattern gets 2 days weekly off. The exact doubt was whether the officer who works in shift duty for the same duration is also eligible for the same number of 2 weekly off days.
It is a real life situation which exists in some organisations and people are confused about this. Some organisations gives 2 offs for Gazetted officers who work in shift duties but some others gives only 1 off.

As I understand from the replys, it varies from department to department and there is no specific common directive for central Gazetted officers doing shift duties.

Mr. Biju,

What you said has already been noted. But, what I asked has not been replied by you. When you have avoided reply to my specific question, should I presume that the matter did not relate to you. If not, please clarify, how you are concerned with the problem of the Gazetted Officers?
