Gift deed for immovable property in gujarat.

Hello,

My father has a non-agricultural plot which he has self-acquired situated in Bharuch, Gujarat. He would like to gift it to me (his son), in his presence. What is the best way to go about this in terms of stamp duty etc.?

Also if stamp duty and/ or registration charges are applicable, then at what amount are they payable?

Your father can execute a gift (settlement) deed in your favour. the stamp duties are some vary from State to State, so consult in local Registrar office or a lawyer. to best known, the rate of stamp duty is applicable @3.5%.

As the gift transaction in between the persons with blood relation, the stamp duty is very nominal.. visit the nearest sub registrar office to get exact amount.
