Did you receive any communication in writing from bank?
Did collection/recovery agent come to you with copy of letter from bank/ID proof?
Has the ECS been declined due to insufficient balance?

In agreement signed by you or communications supplied to you, what is stated about sufficient balance for ECS: Date of ECS, 7days before and 7days after?
Did you record the calls and visits of agents?

The efforts of the banker is to secure its recovery which if is done then the question of harassment do not arise. Better to avail One time settlement so as to avoid permanent harassment.

Whatsoever may be the reason of return of ECS, now deposit the amount in loan account and keep the account regular.
Write to Bank that return of ECS was not due to your fault and to refund back any charges taken for return of ECS.

If bank is at fault it should reverse the charges.

The author has not confirmed whether any charges were debited or not? However, Bank levy charges on such return. Please confirm whether debited in your case or not?

Agreed with Mr. Goyal.
The software used by banks is programmed to levy such charges.
