This query is : Resolved
The TV purchased by me valued about 50,000/- stopped working after 14 months of purchase i.e. just 2 months after the warranty period of 1 year was over. They are asking for Rs.40,000/- towards repair charges which I feel is too much on the higher side. They are not acceding to my request to bring down the cost which is affordable tome. No replies from them for many many requests. Is it advisable to file a complaint in Consumer Forum?

Once the Warranty Period is Over they will not be Legally Liable.

Agreed. But does it mean the 40000/- repair cost within 14 months of purchase justifiable? In that case the total spent on the Tv will b ₹. 90,000/-.

Your personnel views on reasonable charges/cost are Ok.
Get it repaired locally.
Next time before buying spend time on future costs also and choose brand/model etc carefully.

Case of deficiency of service and unfair trade practice against manufacturer/dealer is not made out as warranty period has been over so if any complaint against manufacturer/dealer is filed before consumer forum, would be not maintainable.

I will give explanation from different view . They don't repair it , they just replace it because they can not repair it neither they have trained staff for it.
Few days back my router was not working , internet not working so I called local cable operator and he told replace router . I asked him to purchase new router for me as I can not move out of house for few days . He said you will feel I am cheating you only bring from any where with specific specifican.
I did it after that I asked whether you can use any where as second hand he said no where it is printed circuit board , nothing can be done . Sorry to say throw it in dustbin .
Service center also do same thing replace board and give back with old plastic cover and sent it back to company what they do there we don't know
Moral of the story ---this is problem of electronic equipment , hardly any thing can be done use it replaced it throw it
Legally they will take stand 1 year was warranty now we are not liable replace the electronic board

Service center collect all old electronic board and sent it to company . What exactly they do of this electronic garbage we don't know properly .
If nothing works then last chance before throwing in garbage give some add if and electronic college student or teacher want to learn or give try he may give try to help you. See in engineering colleges they learn old technology and latest product they too don't get details becauase company try to keep electronic and software core matter secret to accelerate profit . So try with them .
