Marriage Registration

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 09 April 2010 This query is : Resolved
If marriage was performed before one and half year how registration could be done now and also what reason could be given for the delay? What is the fine for delay?
B K Raghavendra Rao (Expert) 09 April 2010
Marriage that has taken place one and a half year back could be registered now. One need to fill in the prescribed form and enclose the requisite documents for getting the marriage registered. The fee and fine (there is no fine as such for this registration) if any would all amount to a couple of hundreds of rupees. It is inexpensive.

You have to file prescribed form available with the registrar of marriages. There is no explanation required for the delay for registration
