There is no prescribed time limit for such proceeding. The Limitation Act is also silent on this aspect.

Generally if the entire proceeding is not concluded the employee is asked to join the service after 6 months of pendency of proceeding.
Advocate. Arunagiri (Expert) 29 October 2010
Disciplinary proceedings ought to be completed within 6 months, if it is not completed the suspension will be extended. But, many departmental proceedings are dragging for years together.

Limitation act does not regulate the period for completing the Disciplinary proceedings.

I agree with Mr.Arun.
