Many Universities are providing admission to P.hd programmes after PROFESSIONAL DEGREES like B.Tech,M.B.B.S,Chartered Accountancy,Cost Accountancy and Company Secretaryship. Is there any university in India providing admission to P.hd. programme after LL.B. There is a notification that a lawyer with 5years experience can teach law.So in the above facts if anybody have any idea about any university providing admission to P.hd. programme after LL.B.

Dear Debasish,

LL.B is a graduation and so after graduation you have to do post-graduation i.e LL.M. course, then after post-graduation course , you may eligible for the P.hd.

Dear Debasish,

You have also stated that there is a notification that after 5 years of practising lawyers can teach a law. Can you give the details about it? Pl provide it.
Debasish Hota (Querist) 16 November 2010
Dear Shashikant,
You are awre that B.Tech and M.B.B.S. are also graduation. The duration of CA,ICWA and CS are of three years after graduation or four years after higher secondary including foundation course.Where as in case of LL.B it is three year after graduation or five year after higher secondary. The duration is more than the normal master degree or other professional degree. So it is a very serious metter for law graduates and practising lawyer as the law degree is not treated at par with other professional degree. Later on it came to my knowledge that Indian Law Institute , New Delhi is allowing admission to P.hd. programme on the basis of LL.B.degree alongwith ten year practice experience. Is there any other university.

Why you equate a law degree with other professional degrees? No other professionals are branded as LEARNED BROTHERS than that of the lawyers. Hence, we are second to none. Go ahead with your Research from Delhi university.

Go ahead with your Research in law from Delhi university. There are many areas in law that are deprived with quality study to take it further for our next generation. You can take guidance even from quality inputs available in this wonderful website. Good Wishes.
