Who should be appointed to investigate

If F.I.R. is registered under IPC 454, 457 & 380 who should be appointed for investigation from Police Dept. if the burglary loss value is Rs. 50 Lac or above. Is it possible to get standard guidelines on appointing person for investigation

as you registered your case now its police to decide whether the investigation entrusted to local police for investigation or investigation done by a special officer from the crime department, it depend upon the gravity of the case and not upon how much you loss in the crime.

i spoke to the PSI he says there is a set guideline based on under which section is the crime, but did not give me from where this can be obtained. he also agreed that amount of loss has a relevance to the cadre of investigation officer to be appointed
