If the property is bought in the name of the wife, there is no guarantee that she will not dispose it of or will not give it away by means of Gift etc., or even by Will to some third party.
Getting back the property by "Gift" to husband means that the property is not being given in the name of the wife.
Getting it after her death by means of "Will" will largely depend upon whether it was her last Will or not.
Even if she gives a last will in favour of husband, but nothing will prevent her from Gifting the property to anyone that she likes prior to her death. Then in that event the WILL in favour of the husband will be of no use.
Power of Attorney by wife in favour of husband is useless, once she dies.

Mr.R.Ramachandran is right. Why not husband buys in his name when he wishes to get it back.

I do agree with Ramachandran.
Even if you want to purchase the property in the name of your wife then during her life time get a gift from her and get it enter in due papers.

A Will of wife can work if another Will not made thereafter..
