Future property transfer

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 01 August 2011 This query is : Resolved
1) Can there be Gift deed for future i.e. that immovable property will be transferred in future or when one becomes major/gets married.

2) If the transfer is in future the gift deed will be registered in future or it can be registered today?
R.Ramachandran (Expert) 01 August 2011
The Gift has to be given of the existing property and with immediate effect. But there can be conditions attached to the Gift. But it cannot be said that a Gift of the property will be given in future.
Raj Kumar Makkad (Expert) 02 August 2011
The basic essence of gift is immediate handing over the gifted property to its beneficiary by testator so your questions ends and do not qualify to be answered accordingly.
