You should have been well versed about your local beliefs about such marriage in Assam but Hindu Marriage Act definitely discourage such type of marriages as your boy friends is your Mama (brougher of your mother) so it comes within prohibited relationship.

Religion, caste or creed never comes in the way of a marriage in India.
However this relation is well within the prohibited relationship and is not allowed unless the local customs strongly allows such marriage.
Rajeev Kumar (Expert) 13 November 2011
It is prohibited degree of relationship and null and void in the eye of law as per as HMA
Kirti Kar Tripathi (Expert) 13 November 2011
This marriage will not be a legal marriage not because of the fact that one party is Assamese and another is non Assamese but because of the fact that the parties are within prohibited degree of relationship.

Again i find in complete agreement of opinions stating the proposed marriage with in prohibited degree falling in 'sapindas'from mother side with in three degree in ascent.
Such marriage is void legally and socially an incest to be condemned frankly.

Even under special marriage Act vied entry 32 of schedule I read with s.2(b) your marriage is prohibited.
Arun Kumar Bhagat (Expert) 20 November 2011
Though I agree with all but I think in South Indian Community this type of marriage is prevalent.
