You are the best person to judge yourself. How can I know about your capabilities to understand the language of a particular author. If you come to me for a day or two, I can judge you properly and can guide accordingly.
It is better for you to go the library of your college and read books on a particular subject by different authors and chose best one as per your liking and capability and this process can be revised about all subjects.

Agree with Makkad sir, Choose a good books which have Exam pals, explanations along with case laws & historical judgments.if You refer a case laws or judgments in your answers in Exams u have a better chance to get a good marks. Don't go for ready reference or Digest. prepare a notes from books. Than only you can understand the subjects. As per my opinion from the digest you can pass the LLB But you cant understand the subjects . Gud Luck for your exams.
