Dear Experts,
Day before yesterday in a Delhi Consumer Court, the presiding member did not admit an matter against Airtel of some complainant, stating that now even the private Telecom Companies have to go for Arbitration...
Previoulsy, it was held only cases against MTNL and BSNL and that too landline matters, need to be referred to Arbitration.
So what is this the real current situation, any citation or reference on this subject would be appreciated ?

Because if the decision of the supreme court, consumer complaint does not lie against telephone company.
The only remedy of the consumer is to fIle complaint beofre the TRAI.

But does TRAI has power to pass any compensation against them or just the company's reprimanded ?
Because what I feel, is that these days Telecom companies have stop responding to complaints properly...

The Supreme Court in 2009, in the General Manager, Telecom, versus M Krishnan case, involving BSNL as a party, had ended the jurisdiction of consumer courts to entertain disputes relating to the telecom service provider.

It is become debatable issue... some consumer forums are applying the criterion to MTNL and BSNL only, while some feel that it applies to all Telecom Operators !
