The accused would need to move an application to the concerned court to appear for examination permission if granted by court then he can appear.

Is the accused in police custody for some other case or for the same case? If he is custody for some other case, then the court will permit the police to bring the accused for examination.If he is in custody for the same case then the court will ask the police to present the accused for examination.

yes he can give exam with permission of the concerned court (the concerned means the court who have jurisdiction over that police station or who ordered him in M.C.R)
