Change of name in pagdi system

Hi, My name is Bhavesh, i live with my parents on a rented flat (Pagdi system). We are living here since 1977. The land lord issues rent receipts on my mothers maiden name (Nirmala Joshi) whereas it should actually be Nirmala Pandya. We have requested him many a times to change the name on the rent receipts, but he says that it does not matter.
The Ration Card, Passports, Telephone Bills are all under the correct name except the rent receipts.
Would this cause any trouble for me or my family in future?
Is there any way that we can legally request him to get the name changed correctly?

Issue him Legal notice, to change the name, with consent Letter and affidavit of all Legal Heirs . Also enclosed Marriage Certificate.
It will support you in case of trouble in future, and can also pull him to court, getting direction to him to issue rent receipt on new name.
