Credit card recovery

can a credit card company ask for recovery of its dues and threaten to file a case after 7 years.
stopped using credit card in 2007 but had some dues. the company in threatening to file case now in 2012. is it not barred by limitation.

The case shall be barred by limitation but let the company file its case.

limitation for filling the recovery suit will be start after deniel of make payment not before, for example: you are not paying dues from 2007 but the recovery person contact to you many times but you refuse or give them some time to pay, if the company file any recovery suit against you then they show the cause of action within three years.

Mr.Nadeem has rightly advised you. The liability may be 7 years old. But, the date of cause of action is considered for litigation.

Dear Rauf,

Don't pay any heed to the recovery agents.Have you received any official communication from the concerned bank directly? Never give cheques towards credit card payments to the recovery agents.Once it bounces you are torchered.

Accoding to the limitation act it is 3 years from the couse of action.
